I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. Psalm 77:11Psalm 105:5-6 Remember His marvellous works that He hath done; His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth;O ye Seed of Abraham His servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen
I am so thankful for my family. When we had my husband’s surprise 50th birthday party at the house, my daughters called and texted “reminders” to make sure I hadn’t forgotten anything, so the day would not come and leave us unprepared. I could not have done any of that without the my children.
Today after I got up from a nice Sunday nap, I proceeded to go in the den to watch tv my son asked me if I had worked on my Bible lesson for the day, knowing my likelihood to procrastinate or simply just take too long.
I hadn’t forgotten, but a verbal memo was a good idea since sometimes thoughts take a while to materialize.
The Lord wants us to call things to remembrance also. Two of them are: His Word to hide in our heart (Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee), AND keeping of the Lord’s Supper as a continued reminder to us all of His broken body and shed blood for us.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which He was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, He brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is My body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of Me. After the same manner also He took the cup, when He had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in My blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till He come.
Father God, please bring to mind those things You have commanded us to do.
Please give us clarity and understanding in what You want from us.
We ask for a longing to bring to remembrance what You teach through Your Word.
Please accept our praise for instructing in such detail, how to live, even as to how we should pray.
Be glorified as we offer back the Words You have given:
“After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, for ever.
The Lord’s Prayer”
Peace to you all, goodnight! B
