DEVOTIONAL: Eternity Is Real, Not A Concept

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

Ecclesiastes 3:11

My dear, precious friends, Children of the Most High! I hope this first day of 2015 has started off the year well.

Now Alabama is playing, farewell to any “rest” I may have gotten thus far, as I tend to get a little “involved” in the games!

So this is the verse the Lord gave me for today! I actually picked a few out rather in a rush (admittedly because the game was about to start), but the Lord convicted me that either I need my focus to be the devotional or a ballgame!

I think it is awesome that He would give us a verse to consider about TIME.. and setting eternity in our hearts!

I tell you, to this daughter, our Beautiful Father displayed His tremendous power to teach a lifetime lesson in a carefully selected few words!

Praise be to Our Wonderful Lord, the Alpha and Omega! He had no beginning and has no end!

It is mind-boggling, just trying to think of God’s works throughout time! It is beyond me to think of all He has done just in my life (that I am AWARE).

Our finite minds are incapable of even comprehending eternity! Living in a time where everything seems instantaneous, we have really lowered our concept and patience for waiting.

It seems that if the Internet doesn’t come up immediately, or our food doesn’t warm up in the microwave in seconds, we get annoyed. How many times have you sat in a waiting room for HOURS? A long, annoying wait, maybe it even consumed your entire day, but FAR from forever!

Some people (perhaps some among even us) may act as though time should be more accommodating. Perhaps Scripture is calling us to re-evaluate our concept of “eternity”.

Precious Lord and Savior
You Are The Most Awesome and Wonderful God
Who is like You
How Majestic is Your Name in all the earth!

How we are in awe of You, Glorious King
You Were
You Are
You always Will Be!

Father, although we cannot understand Your ways
We acknowledge they are perfect

Thank You for time
O God, we know that we serve a Lord who is time-LESS
Since death cannot hold You
Time certainly has no way to contain our Master
It, as all things, was created by You and for You

Father, please let us use what You have given us, wisely
May we cherish each breath as the gift from You it is
With every moment, opportunity presents itself

Please give us wisdom as how to make the most out of what we have been given
Let us not pass up a hug
Neglect to smile at someone
Please let us not find ourselves too busy to offer a word of encouragement

It isn’t our time to claim, Father
It is Your time we have been given
Be honored and glorified in how we choose to use it!

Thank You for every second we get to
Hold a child
Talk with a friend
Laugh with those we love
Offer comfort
And most importantly
Praise You

In the Name of Jesus our Lord,

“Ancient of Days”

“Days of Elijah”

About voicevessel bwc

First, and most importantly, I love Jesus Christ and I trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. I was raised in a Christian home by a godly dad and mom (who planned and had me in July before turning 42 in August), and 5 older siblings. My father passed away when I was 7 and my mother (who went to be with the Lord in 2005 at 81) never remarried. As a child, I was bullied at school, so I did not have many friends. I didn't want to tell my mom this because I knew she had enough worry being a widow at 50. I know what it is like to be lonely. As an adult, God showed me the value of His Friendship and has blessed me, too, with rich relationships with dear friends who also love the Lord. My husband and I (married 31 years as of 2020), have three wonderful, adult children and son-in-law as well as three darling grandchildren. Along with many others, my husband lost his job, but we refuse to be fearful or angry. The Lord has provided for us and we are so thankful for the opportunity to express gratitude through personal contact and occasional memories I share through writing. I believe the Lord has given me a venue to engage with others and a means to share His Word. Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy what you read. If there is anything positive or insightful in the devotionals (NOT CALLING MY WRITING "INSPIRED" by any means!), I give all credit and glory to Jesus Christ! On the other side of that, when something makes no sense, that's all me
