(Disclaimer: I had dental work today and I am still under some of the influence of sedatives. I hope and pray any of this makes sense or has a resemblance of connection In thought process).
Devotional
Luke 23:41-43
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Hanging from the cross on Calvary, Jesus recognized the desperation in this man’s voice and the sincere plea for his eternal condition. Having mercy on him. The dying man understood and accepted that it was on Jesus alone he was resting his hope, and confessed that he indeed deserved his punishment. Even up there in physical, emotional, and spiritual torment, this man agonized, as his eyes were opened to Who it was right in front of him
I do not know anything about the other man on the cross, other than his circumstances under the law clearly dictated that was the place for him, I haven’t read up or studied the great judgments falling upon him, making him worthy of crucifixion.. I do know, however, regardless what put him right there beside Christ that day, changed his life for eternity.
With tears in my eyes, I can just imagine my dad, mom and sister, all having that same glorious invitation; He reached out His hand and whispered to them with a smile, “Today you will be with Me in Paradise”.
Prayer’
Oh Precious and Saving Father
You are that Cornerstone
Our lives are built around You
O Great Jehovah
Without You There would be no solid ground
We would be sinking further and further into our sins
You have a place we can run to, Lord
You are our Strong Tower
Unyielding
The Truth does not
Flow or move with the tide
The lies of man bend and change according to his desire
That is how we can determine the truth
In You.
The cross anchored the place where Truth shed His blood
The Power of the Truth tore the veil
It rolled away the stone from an empty grave
One day, as the man on the cross saw and so many before us were eyewitness to
We will see the Truth in flesh as we stand before Jesus Christ
Falling at His feet, worshipping Him, those in Heaven, under heaven, on earth and under the earth, to the glory of God the Father
Not one tongue will be able to deny Jesus Christ
O How I long for that day when all will praise Him!
In The Name of Jesus,
Amen
