Devotional: If You Pray For Rain, Get OutThe Umbrella

Philippians 4:6

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Psalms 34:1-4
34 I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His Name together.

4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Last week our heat stopped working at the house. There was one day and two nights where it was pretty chilly. We were very thankful for the wall gas heat, the gas fireplace and three electric throws.

Being so close to the weekend, we decided to avoid the premium cost and wait until Monday before we called anyone. As back-up, we could go to my mother in law’s place or we had a gracious offer to stay at a friend’s house.

The electrician came over but couldn’t locate the problem. Without charging us, he referred us over to a heating and cooling specialist.

We bundled up when it got chilly and today the other workers came. I envisioned costly issues, although I prayed it would be a simple fix. O ye of L ITTLE FAITH!

The men came over, worked a very short time, came upstairs and I asked them to tell me good news. It was a LOOSE WIRE~ There was a minimum service charge, but they also do cleaning of systems, so I paid and I was told to call in a few days to set up an appointment and they would clean the system for no charge.

I was so touched that the Lord was so incredibly involved and was so merciful, it made me tear up as I thanked Him for blessing me once again! Would God have been great, regardless of the outcome, indeed He would! I do not understand the beautiful mercy our Father shows in times He knows we so desperately need it!

PRAYER

FATHER GOD

Thank You for this day You’ve given us

May we use each and every situation

To turn praise back to You

Please forgive us when we are found low in faith

Help us, please, O God

To pray, believing in You

For miracles

You ARE Almighty God

Sovereign

Just and Loving

Please open our eyes

Our hearts

To Your strength and power

Thank You for blessings

Undeserved an abundant

For eternal life

Costing You EVERYTHING

Yet Free to us

In the Name of Jesus

AMEN

About voicevessel bwc

First, and most importantly, I love Jesus Christ and I trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. I was raised in a Christian home by a godly dad and mom (who planned and had me in July before turning 42 in August), and 5 older siblings. My father passed away when I was 7 and my mother (who went to be with the Lord in 2005 at 81) never remarried. As a child, I was bullied at school, so I did not have many friends. I didn't want to tell my mom this because I knew she had enough worry being a widow at 50. I know what it is like to be lonely. As an adult, God showed me the value of His Friendship and has blessed me, too, with rich relationships with dear friends who also love the Lord. My husband and I (married 31 years as of 2020), have three wonderful, adult children and son-in-law as well as three darling grandchildren. Along with many others, my husband lost his job, but we refuse to be fearful or angry. The Lord has provided for us and we are so thankful for the opportunity to express gratitude through personal contact and occasional memories I share through writing. I believe the Lord has given me a venue to engage with others and a means to share His Word. Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy what you read. If there is anything positive or insightful in the devotionals (NOT CALLING MY WRITING "INSPIRED" by any means!), I give all credit and glory to Jesus Christ! On the other side of that, when something makes no sense, that's all me
