Romans 12:4-5
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Today we did not make it to church but Jonathan, Charles and I watched a sermon on television.
It doesn’t take long to realize the true importance and just how special it is worshipping together (in person) with godly sisters and brothers!
Two sweet sisters checked to make sure we were okay, one by text and the other by e mail. How wonderful to know we are loved and missed!
Once the band struck up on tv and the pastor started speaking I noticed a distinctive yearning. My spirit longed to celebrate the Savior and learn more about Him with my church family.
The sermon we watched had a great message, but oh how I missed connecting with my friends. How awesome it is praising the Lord with such a tremendous group of godly people.
My heart missed praising the Almighty God and being taught how to apply His Word to my life. My eyes didn’t see the beautiful faces. My ears missed hearing one friend’s amazing prelude, then listening to two of them play piano and keyboard. The sweet aroma of God’s love lingers throughout the corridors of God’s house. Last, but not least, of course there is no substitution for precious touch when getting my dose of hugs!
I could truly not be more blessed than to have been brought to such a wonderful place of worship with special, precious people of God! I am very thankful to have each one of these sisters and brothers in my life!
PRAYER
Precious and Loving Lord
Thank You for Your Body
Father God
You created us a relational beings
We ask that we take every opportunity to come together
To celebrate and worship You
For those who are in a loving church family
We give praise for drawing us into that congregation
Some have not found godly sisters and brothers to worship with yet, Lord
We just lift them up and ask that You direct them wherever they need to go
We ask that You make us aware of those who visit where we worship
Holy God, let no one dare be invisible to us!
Let us not be so focused on getting the interaction we enjoy or be so consumed with our own agenda that we miss someone who may desperately need attention
If someone wants prayer, Father, let us stop right then and pray with them, rather than sending them away, telling them we will remember them in our prayer time.
Please draw closer, those who are walking with You
And open the hearts of those who are not
We offer praise and thanksgiving for each and every blessing!
In the Name of Jesus we pray
AMEN
