DEVOTIONAL: Scripture Is The Voice of God

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Last night Jonathan was reading Scriptures to me and although I was listening, every time he said “Thus says the Lord”, I took exceptional notice.

We are so blessed in this country to have the freedom to own a copy of the Scriptures for ourselves, to pray privately and publically without threat of personal harm or death.

I believe the Lord is telling us that we should grab hold of those freedoms, appreciate them and seize every opportunity to pray and study His Word.

The Scripture IS THE INSPIRED WORDS OF GOD; therefore, when we read it, we are to do so with reverence! It isn’t a novel to be put on the bedside table. Neither is it a box to be checked for the day. God’s Word is to be studied, considered, valued, claimed, accepted and obeyed as It is THE Absolute Truth. It is a direct line of communication between our Lord and His children!

Some of us have differing opinions on directions. When doing something I am unclear about, I rely heavily upon them and still get things confused. Many times when I have tried something and just can’t get it to work, I call on customer support to walk me through the issues I am having

At times when we have something to do that is rather involved, we keep copious notes and refer back to them as a reminder about how to handle certain situations. Should we take no less care about our lives and turn to the Instruction Manuel our Creator so perfectly constructed for us? When we lack understanding, and we will from time to time, He even tells us to call on Him and He will GIVE us wisdom.. LIBERALLY! James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

PRAYER

Father God

Thank You for the Word

We give You praise that we live in a land

Where we can still freely worship You

We have no idea what it is like to not have access to Your Word

Please let us not take for granted the freedoms we have

We ask that You give us a hunger and thirst for the Scriptures

A desire to know You more

To love You

To bring You genuine worship and glad praises

We want to please You, Lord

Thank You for the joy You give us

For Your grace and tender mercies

In the Name of Jesus

Amen

I encourage every one of you to pray and study the Scriptures yourselves daily and let the Lord of All Creation speak and bless you each day. B

About voicevessel bwc

First, and most importantly, I love Jesus Christ and I trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. I was raised in a Christian home by a godly dad and mom (who planned and had me in July before turning 42 in August), and 5 older siblings. My father passed away when I was 7 and my mother (who went to be with the Lord in 2005 at 81) never remarried. As a child, I was bullied at school, so I did not have many friends. I didn't want to tell my mom this because I knew she had enough worry being a widow at 50. I know what it is like to be lonely. As an adult, God showed me the value of His Friendship and has blessed me, too, with rich relationships with dear friends who also love the Lord. My husband and I (married 31 years as of 2020), have three wonderful, adult children and son-in-law as well as three darling grandchildren. Along with many others, my husband lost his job, but we refuse to be fearful or angry. The Lord has provided for us and we are so thankful for the opportunity to express gratitude through personal contact and occasional memories I share through writing. I believe the Lord has given me a venue to engage with others and a means to share His Word. Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy what you read. If there is anything positive or insightful in the devotionals (NOT CALLING MY WRITING "INSPIRED" by any means!), I give all credit and glory to Jesus Christ! On the other side of that, when something makes no sense, that's all me
