DEVOTIONAL: Our Debt Was Settled On Calvary

Good Evening women of God! Inline image 1

I hope you all had a blessed day.

Please continue to keep Cindy’s family and all of those who are hurting in your prayers.  Also, let’s celebrate with others who have found victory over illness, a new job or whatever else the Lord has brought into their lives.

It’s peculiar the things we remember from childhood, isn’t it.  Some things aren’t even that relevant to us, personally, but certain events make an impact.

Somehow we may not be able to recall what we had for dinner last Tuesday, but we can recall in detail, our whereabouts on September 11.

When I was a pre-teen, the place I attended church had a mortgage-burning ceremony.  I  thought it was wierd, mostly because I didn’t really understand the significance of it. As an adult, I can tell you that whenever I get a notice something is “paid in full”, it is wonderful news,

On the cross at Calvary, our Lord Jesus paid a debt only Heaven could afford.  With His blood, we were redeemed from a fate worse than death, hell. Let’s celebrate and praise our Savior for the freedom He provided for us!

PRAYER
Thank You for this day, Lord
May Your Name be praised for every day You give us, Precious Savior

Praise to our Great Redeemer for going to the cross, dying and rising again for us
We cannot know the true cost
The isolation
Betrayal
Suffering and pain
Our sins actually cost our Loving Jesus

Thank You seems so insufficient
Nothing we can do or say can ever repay what was done for us

Rather than being discouraged at our inability to reciprocate
Please give us hope and joy that
Jesus loved us enough to make the Ultimate Sacrifice

Please give us hearts of obedience
For the One Who gave all He had
The Life of the Priceless Prince of Peace for wretched sinners

In the Name of Jesus, the Lord of Love
Our Master
Amen

About voicevessel bwc

First, and most importantly, I love Jesus Christ and I trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. I was raised in a Christian home by a godly dad and mom (who planned and had me in July before turning 42 in August), and 5 older siblings. My father passed away when I was 7 and my mother (who went to be with the Lord in 2005 at 81) never remarried. As a child, I was bullied at school, so I did not have many friends. I didn't want to tell my mom this because I knew she had enough worry being a widow at 50. I know what it is like to be lonely. As an adult, God showed me the value of His Friendship and has blessed me, too, with rich relationships with dear friends who also love the Lord. My husband and I (married 31 years as of 2020), have three wonderful, adult children and son-in-law as well as three darling grandchildren. Along with many others, my husband lost his job, but we refuse to be fearful or angry. The Lord has provided for us and we are so thankful for the opportunity to express gratitude through personal contact and occasional memories I share through writing. I believe the Lord has given me a venue to engage with others and a means to share His Word. Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy what you read. If there is anything positive or insightful in the devotionals (NOT CALLING MY WRITING "INSPIRED" by any means!), I give all credit and glory to Jesus Christ! On the other side of that, when something makes no sense, that's all me
