Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Romans 14:9 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
Today, the 6th, is (my oldest), Brittney’s, 25th birthday! Where in the world did those years go!
First-born children tend to…
- Be perfectionists check
- Enjoy making other people happy check
- Be highly motivated to achieve success check
- Take on a leadership role check
- Be responsible check
- Be peacemaker check
John 16:21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world
When today’s topic came up, Britt came to mind. She has been and still is the little peacemaker in the family. Whether we are all together or not, she is the one who gets in there and works until she finds resolution. I don’t know how she brings all five us to agreement, but it is one of her God-given talents for sure (especially since we are not always the easiest to make mutual decisions.. (I’m sure she is giving me an “Amen” to that as she reads this)) .
I am very thankful that that among her many wonderful skills and abilities, editing, drawing and other talents, she has the been blessed with compassion for others and desire to help wherever she can. She is such a wonderful blessing in my life and I praise God for allowing that beautiful young lady to call me “Momma”.
Our Precious Lord and Savior is the Prince of Peace! We have been graciously and mercifully been given the Holy Spirit to bring comfort and peace beyond all understanding in times when we need it.John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Luke 23:43 “And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with Me in Paradise”
Just think about the man on the cross beside Jesus! He was dying and in desperation called out to Him. Although he was facing certain (physical) death, right then and there, Christ gave hope to the hopeless! I believe that in that fellow’s final hours, even as he drew his final breath, he found a peace he had never known. He trusted in the Lord’s promise that he would pass from this world to life everlasting in Paradise! What a Mighty God we serve!
Imagine times in our lives when we were faced with calamity, death, anxiousness or any other human emotion known to mankind. What would have become of us if not for the Lord’s supernatural intervention; Instead, He allows peace and calmness only attributed to HIs power! Let’s pause now to pray for those who do not know the Lord as personal Savior, that they may be drawn unto Him for salvation and have what He has so graciously given us.
Philippians 4: 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
GLORY TO GOD!
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
PRAYER
Praise be to You, Almighty and Righteous Lord
Your Word tells us in Psalm 63:8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me;
and in Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the Right Hand of My righteousness
Over and over again, Scripture comforts with promises of Your protection and provision. InRomans 8:38-39, You tell us, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Believers are reassured of Your unfailing love for those who belong to You from this life throughout Eternity. (Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?)
Only the King of kings and Lord of lords can offer PERFECT PEACE! This is beyond anything we can understand! May the world take notice of our faith through the way we live. Burden our hearts, Lord for their lack of understanding or realization about how profoundly our relationship impacts every moment of our lives. We cannot or do not want to live without You! Without You is unbearable separation and only through You is life everlasting!
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” You, Most Gracious God, as always, gave us so much more than our human condition could ever comprehend! Praise You, Abba, Father, for Your greatness!
Praise Your Holy Name!
Through Jesus we pray
Amen
JOHN 14: 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
