schism s(k)izəm/ noun: schism; plural noun: schism
a split or division between strongly opposed sections or parties, caused by differences in opinion or belief.
Yesterday at church, my friend was telling me that she has learned more about me through these devotionals since I use so many personal examples. I then told her about the splinter I got in my hand and how I did not want to say any more because it would probably end up somewhere in my meanderings, so here it goes…
For some reason, I don’t think about trees having THRONS! The other day, I was out doing yard work, grabbed a handful of limbs and they bit me!
About 4 A.M.
, it started throbbing and I noticed that some of that thorn was still in my thumb. I tried all I knew to get it but could not. I considered waking Jonathan, then decided I did not want someone annoyed and tired jabbing at me with tweezers!
I couldn’t rest, because of discomfort, but our
Great and Wonderful Lord uses anything, even a sore thumb, to teach lessons. Our body is one unit, operating together. If one member of the body is in pain, we ache together.
Whether we are celebrating or hurt, our Father gives us what we need to rejoice or have compassion when needed.
Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2.
It is great to meet and fellowship, but critical for the Body of Christ to come behind, uplift and encourage those who are not doing well, either spiritually, emotionally, physically or in whatever areas there are issues.
Thank You for the times You have encouraged us
Through reading Scripture
And words of a fellow brother or sister in Christ
Please help us to be aware of others
Give us a heart of rejoicing for our friends who have reason to celebrate, even if a victory is “small”
All victories are through You
So let’s have a heart of praise and thanksgiving
Father, when someone among us is hurting
It isn’t always easy to tell
People sometimes mask pain and sorrows
Tear down the walls, Lord
Please let us not be reluctant to be transparent with You
Let us be trustworthy friends
So when someone has a personal matter
Let them know what they say will not go anywhere else
Please let our advice be to pray and seek Your will, God
Let us not be anxious to advise or recommend
We give praise to our Friend, Jesus
Where we can turn in our happiest or darkest hours
Knowing You will be right there
Because You first loved us!
