PSALM 100:4
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His Name.
It seems as though by now I would know better than to so heavily rely on weather reports when I have things to do or places to go.
As I was getting ready to leave and do something with a friend, I HEARD there were storms (not in our direct area, but close enough to broadcast locally). Instead of looking around and seeing the skies were not threatening, I saw overcast and gray clouds. Perhaps the weather (miles and miles away) MIGHT impact us!
Before I left, I said a prayer, reminding The Lord how upsetting it was those times I traveled in storms and would He please give me His protection. As I prayed, I was convicted of the times the Lord did shield me and how. I reached home only to grab my cell phone or jump on social media.
I have written about this before, mostly because it really bothers me when I realize just how ungrateful I can be or how quickly I forget to give praise to God for His protection and provision.
Don’t you know how much whining, grumbling and complaining Moses heard! Time and again, God provided for the people and yet they continually doubted Him.
Who is to say we don’t live in a time of miracles. Every time we wake up, we see, hear, touch, smell, taste, reason and understand, we are blessed by God’s Almighty Power and we as His creation have the honor to give praise to the Lord for all He has done, is doing and will continue to do through out our lives! Let’s not waste any opportunities to worship and give praise to our God and King!
PRAYER
Father, Merciful Lord and Savior
We give You thanks for each and every
Blessing in our lives
For the victories
We return to You
For the difficult times
We praise You for the lessons
You impart
Thank You that in and through Christ
We can hope
Thank You for Your love
For Your grace and mercy
Wisdom, discernment and conviction
Teach us, please, how to engage those gifts in our lives
Praise You for our talents
Let us accept what You have given us with humility
And use it to bring honor and recognition to our Father
Please don’t let us hide, deny or neglect to use what You Have given us, but use it as an opportunity to show Your Greatness and Power
Let our skills humbly display how precious and Generous You equip us to serve You as we were created To do!
Please let us live out the meaning and will You have for each of our lives
Let us live to please You!
Longing to hear “Well done” when our race on earth is finished
Then we will know we did what You intended with what we were given.
Father, we read in
Luke 17:11-19 And it came to pass, as He went to Jerusalem, that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. And as He entered into a certain village, there met Him tenmen that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.And when He saw them, He said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
Please, Father, let us be the ONE who will turn back every time to give You glory!
In the Name of Your Son, Jesus
AMEN
