Devotional:The Word of God~NOT Just Another Book

2 Timothy 3:16-17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
The Bible ( the collection of sacred writings of the Christian religion, comprising theOld and New Testaments)  is NOT a clipboard or random hard surface used when jotting something on paper.
The Infallible (

incapable of making mistakes or being wrong)

Word of God is NOT a coaster to prevent a water ring on furniture!

The Inherent  (existing in something as a permanent, essential, or characteristic attribute)Scriptures are not intended as a “coffee table book”!
God’s Word is Truth!
We are so blessed to have access to the Scriptures.  Often times I take for granted the many people throughout history who have obediently followed the Lord’s calling, allowing me to have not just one, but several copies of the Bible in my home.
As discussed before, with the way the world is declining, we never know how far we are away from having the privileges we enjoy today, taken away at an instant!
When you think of freedoms, does owning a copy of God’s Word come to mind as one? Psalm 119:11 says, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee.”

Our Lord wants His words in our hearts and NOT just brain knowledge of Scripture, but heart understanding!  Why does He want it there if we can just pick up a copy and read it whenever we want or go online to look at the Word.  Our Father knows what is headed our way and the place best suited for preserving His instructions is in our hearts!  Nowhere does He mention going to the Christian bookstore and buying a copy for each room of the house.

Precious Heavenly Father
Thank You for the Word
Please increase our capacity to learn and understand what
You have to teach us through Scripture
Too many times we recall things that are trivial
Father, please let us purge from our minds those things that are unnecessary
And fill us with the MEAT of Your word!
Please let us hunger and thirst for You, Almighty King
 In the Name of Jesus
The Word made Flesh
Amen

First, and most importantly, I love Jesus Christ and I trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. I was raised in a Christian home by a godly dad and mom (who planned and had me in July before turning 42 in August), and 5 older siblings. My father passed away when I was 7 and my mother (who went to be with the Lord in 2005 at 81) never remarried. As a child, I was bullied at school, so I did not have many friends. I didn't want to tell my mom this because I knew she had enough worry being a widow at 50. I know what it is like to be lonely. As an adult, God showed me the value of His Friendship and has blessed me, too, with rich relationships with dear friends who also love the Lord. My husband and I (married 31 years as of 2020), have three wonderful, adult children and son-in-law as well as three darling grandchildren. Along with many others, my husband lost his job, but we refuse to be fearful or angry. The Lord has provided for us and we are so thankful for the opportunity to express gratitude through personal contact and occasional memories I share through writing. I believe the Lord has given me a venue to engage with others and a means to share His Word. Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy what you read. If there is anything positive or insightful in the devotionals (NOT CALLING MY WRITING "INSPIRED" by any means!), I give all credit and glory to Jesus Christ! On the other side of that, when something makes no sense, that's all me
