Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Story #1
My friend who lost a child a few years ago in an auto accident, just dropped her only other child at college today.
There must be a myriad of emotions going on there I cannot even begin to imagine. Not only is her other child out of the house, but now she and her husband are “empty-nesters”.
Please join me in praying that the two of them will enjoy a special bond and that their marriage will flourish as they embark on this new journey together!
Story #2
My friend from one of our past churches is a grief counselor. Several years ago she an her husband lost her youngest son in a car accident.
A few years later they lost their only other child to cancer. Again, a heart-wrenching situation dealt to a godly couple.
Although she has faced devastating losses and drastic changes in her life, she continues to use her gifts as a counselor to help people through their struggles.
Please pray for her continued strength and courage as she continues to be a blessing to those who need her wisdom and insight.
Story #3
A friend prayed for a change of job, according to God’ timing for many years. Finally she did get another position at a different place.
Before leaving, she had an accident at the place she was leaving, where she was knocked unconscious.
There were no witnesses to what happened, so neither her past employer will pay workmen’s compensation, nor her own insurance wants to pay her medical bills.
She has spoken to two attorneys and neither of them have been encouraging, telling her that they do not see the situation as a “winnable case”.
Please pray that there will be a resolve out there for her and for her to be encouraged. She is a godly woman who knows the Lord is in control.
Story #4
A dear friend of ours had tests run several weeks ago and just last week was told results confirmed cancer.
These is a kind, godly couple who love and enjoy each other dearly! They enjoy traveling together and just being with one another. It is evident being around them, they are truly best friends.
Please pray the Lord’s healing, according to His will, treatment will go easily and that Christ will uplift them in mind, body and spirit.
As they encounter the days ahead, please intercede on their behalf, that the Father will bring much needed encouragement.
Story #5
There is one friend who is caretaker for her mother-in-law and her own aging mother,. Recently her 14 year-old granddaughter went to live with her because of conflict between the young girl and her mother.
Now my friend’s mom is showing signs of dementia,.
Please pray for those issues and for some kind of relief. I don’t know if they know Jesus, but I ask that through all of this, He is glorified and He will use these times as an opportunity to draw them to Himself.
Story #6
My friend’s nephew is living with her mom (his grandmother). There are a tremendous amount of struggles going on there and the grandmother, nor the young man’s parents refuse to do anything about it or deal with the problems which are gong to inevitably lead to something much worse at this pace.
The situation is stressful and the result could be devastating. It is causing strain on family relationships as some are trying to come up with a solution.
Please pray for wisdom for my friend and the other family members to get a resolve and either open the eyes of the grandmother or soften the heart of this rebellious grandson as He sees fit and necessary. Also, please pray for restoration of damaged relationships.
Now, this was not a “who’s, who”, guess which family this is (I have zero intention of divulging nor confirming that information). Neither is this a gossip column, but a call to prayer.
We eagerly await the fulfilment of promise in the verse from Romans; that the glory in Heaven will far out-weigh any struggles we may have in this life. AMEN!
Prayer
Lord our Father and King
Thank You for the amazing promises You have made
Regardless of what life throws our way here on earth
You are preparing an eternal place of rest, peace and fellowship with You
Please let those I the situations above and all unmentioned issues among us and those all over this world, see the work of Your Almighty Hand. You are the Righteous and Mighty King of kings and we give You praise! We trust in You and know that however things resolve, You love us unconditionally and we put our faith and trust in You! Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. We do not have to understand, only believe in You.
Please help us maintain our faith and hope in You
As we endure the trials of this place
Keeping in mind that they are temporary
In the Name of Jesus
We rejoice!
Amen

Trading My Sorrows
In the Garden (In honor and memory of my daddy, Z.L. “Buddy” Wilson. “In the Garden” was his favorite. Tomorrow (21st), will mark 42 years since he went to be with the Lord, leaving my mother widowed at 49 with six children. I am so thankful for God’ promise of eternal life! For 42 years now I have anticipated the day to see my Father and my daddy!)
