Declaration of Dependence -sprouting what is planted

1 Chronicles 16:23-31

Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim His Salvation day after day. Declare His Glory among the nations, His Marvelous Deeds among all peoples. For great is The LORD and most worthy of praise; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but The LORD made The Heavens. Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and joy are in His Dwelling Place. Ascribe to The LORD, all you families of nations, ascribe to The LORD glory and strength. Ascribe to The LORD the glory due His Name; bring an offering and come before Him. Worship The LORD in the splendor of His Holiness. Tremble before Him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Let The Heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!”

Romans 8:8-14

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

There are many examples throughout God’s Word of those who had to be reminded, not only of God’s power, but that in our own strength, we are lacking. He strengthens us through belief and faith in Him. Moses was timid, but found his courage in the Great I Am.  Peter relied on his own resolve and determination, as he ignorantly assured the Savior that there was no way he would betray the Master.  Finally, but certainly not last, Peter faced uncertainty as he took his focus away from the Lord, learning quickly how desperate a situation can get without total reliance on the Almighty.

Society today would have us draw on OUR ‘inner strength” to make it through difficult situations, face turmoil, fight diseases, “find joy” and so on; however, as God’s children we know where our Help is found. Psalm 121:2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Who among us can testify to knowing the true power of God living within? The Lord makes it clear that every success, each time I make it through a difficult time without coming off the hinges or realize the true peace, passing all understanding, it is because of Him. (Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.)

At some point today, consider the times you’ve gotten through a period of time you have known absolutely it was ONLY through the strength God gave, you made it through. As I have been typing, He has shown me many, many times He has carried me from the oceans of despair to shores of joy.  Also the occasions in my life I have been filled with a sense of accomplishment, to God be the Glory! All within me that is worthwhile, I attribute to the Father.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

James 1:5-8 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the LORD. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Proverbs 3:26 For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

MOSES: EXODUS 4:10 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto Thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

PETER: Matthew 26:35 Peter said unto Him, Though I should die with Thee, yet will I not deny Thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

THOMAS: MATTHEW 14: 25-31 25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

28 And Peter answered Him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

29 And He said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Holy and Precious Father

Thank You for this day

Please forgive our sins against You, others and ourselves

We just give You honor and praise right now

For the blood You shed

You took the punishment for us

Giving Your Spirit to dwell within us

Without You, hope does not exist

We were dead in our sins

Lord, how exciting to know that the Creator of the universe

Breathed His life into mankind!

Praise You, Almighty God

For delivering us from death into life

As ONLY You can

All we are

All we have, is Yours

Thank You for blessing us, Lord

Please also bless both those who love and any who dislikes or even hate us

It isn’t easy, Dear Savior, to pray for Your mercy and peace for our enemies

Once again we look to You as an example

Asking forgiveness on our behalf, even as You endured the agonizing pain of the cross!

But God, You tell us to love one another

In obedience to You

Help us to do just that

Help us to sincerely pray for those who persecute us

We love only because You first loved us

And called us to be Children of The Most High God

In Jesus’ Name

Amen

About voicevessel bwc

First, and most importantly, I love Jesus Christ and I trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. I was raised in a Christian home by a godly dad and mom (who planned and had me in July before turning 42 in August), and 5 older siblings. My father passed away when I was 7 and my mother (who went to be with the Lord in 2005 at 81) never remarried. As a child, I was bullied at school, so I did not have many friends. I didn't want to tell my mom this because I knew she had enough worry being a widow at 50. I know what it is like to be lonely. As an adult, God showed me the value of His Friendship and has blessed me, too, with rich relationships with dear friends who also love the Lord. My husband and I (married 31 years as of 2020), have three wonderful, adult children and son-in-law as well as three darling grandchildren. Along with many others, my husband lost his job, but we refuse to be fearful or angry. The Lord has provided for us and we are so thankful for the opportunity to express gratitude through personal contact and occasional memories I share through writing. I believe the Lord has given me a venue to engage with others and a means to share His Word. Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy what you read. If there is anything positive or insightful in the devotionals (NOT CALLING MY WRITING "INSPIRED" by any means!), I give all credit and glory to Jesus Christ! On the other side of that, when something makes no sense, that's all me
