God Was, God Is, God Forever Will Be Our Unchanging Lord In An Ever-Changing World

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

From Genesis to Revelation, there are so many people we read about changing. Some for the better, as in Paul’s case. Adam and Eve, on the other hand, went from walking contently with the Lord to being overcome by temptation, lured into the trappings of fleshly yearnings to be like God, assuming they could obtain what only the Creator could posses.
So we see that both obedience and disobedience can cause one to change. I’m certain that some of you know, (or maybe even you were) a person who went to church as a child and youth, knew the words to every hymn, yet if someone crossed paths later in life, they (or you) would be hardly recognizable, not physically really, just who one was isn’t who they tend to stay. Things can also go the other way, though. There have been some pretty wild and crazy kids I knew way back when (some at church) who have blossomed into godly adults.
Now, consider all the changing going on with people, then look at our God! In the verse for this day, we can take great comfort that the Lord of all creation has not changed, is not changing nor will ever change. He Was, Is and ever Will Be THE GREAT I AM!
Almighty God
Thank You for this day we’ve been given
Please forgive our sins against You, others and ourselves
We give You praise for the hope You have given
That we are being changed, transformed constantly
You are at work every minute in our lives
Please help us to be obedient and willing to make the changes
Holiness requires
We thank You for the strength You give us to endure situations
Even and especially those that are painful
That we will grow closer to You
Thank You, Father, that You never have, are not and never will change
In the Name of Jesus
All praise, honor and glory to our Savior, the same yesterday, today and forevermore
King of all kings and Lord of all lords
Amen

About voicevessel bwc

First, and most importantly, I love Jesus Christ and I trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. I was raised in a Christian home by a godly dad and mom (who planned and had me in July before turning 42 in August), and 5 older siblings. My father passed away when I was 7 and my mother (who went to be with the Lord in 2005 at 81) never remarried. As a child, I was bullied at school, so I did not have many friends. I didn't want to tell my mom this because I knew she had enough worry being a widow at 50. I know what it is like to be lonely. As an adult, God showed me the value of His Friendship and has blessed me, too, with rich relationships with dear friends who also love the Lord. My husband and I (married 31 years as of 2020), have three wonderful, adult children and son-in-law as well as three darling grandchildren. Along with many others, my husband lost his job, but we refuse to be fearful or angry. The Lord has provided for us and we are so thankful for the opportunity to express gratitude through personal contact and occasional memories I share through writing. I believe the Lord has given me a venue to engage with others and a means to share His Word. Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy what you read. If there is anything positive or insightful in the devotionals (NOT CALLING MY WRITING "INSPIRED" by any means!), I give all credit and glory to Jesus Christ! On the other side of that, when something makes no sense, that's all me
