Revelation 3:17-18 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Matthew 18:2-3 And Jesus called a little child unto Him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, “Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.”
James 5:1-6 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
James 5:13-18 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
Matthew 5:44-45 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the Children of your Father which is in Heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
How often are we at church, to reach for a pen and paper or enter into our smartphones, prayer requests spoken out loud by a fellow member of the congregation? Do we get calls during the day, or even worse, in the middle of the night, asking for prayer about a serious situation, regarding a friend or family member ?We tend to be so sincere in praying for those we love, or for those THEY love, but what is the chance we are going to pray for the parties of the wreck we just passed? How about healing for the passenger in an ambulance flying down the highway? What about mothers of (unborn) babies, sitting alone in a cold waiting room, just wanting to get an abortion “over with” so they can “move on”, who prays for them?
Do we pray for the salvation of public leaders who have shown by their fruit that their decisions are not based on God’s Will, but special interests pressure to push through certain agendas?
I fully admit that I was so disgusted by the new administration outcome and how everything was such a mess, I wished and hoped things would change at the last second, so, the prayers I did lift up were self-serving, having NOTHING to do with what God intended to do with America. It was all about what rights, freedoms and liberties we are apt to lose. My citizenship is not of this world, though, so whatever comes, we were designed to endure. not enjoy.
Thank You for this wonderful day
Please forgive our sins against You, others and ourselves
Please help us in our prayer life
We ask that you make it rich in meaning
We ask for compassion
Please just give us a sincerity of heart
Thank You, Jesus, for paying the cost for us to
Approach the Throne of Mighty God, our Creator
We are in Your presence wherever we go, whatever we do
Lord, we must cling to You You
O KING, hear our prayers
Answering them in Your Perfect Will
In Jesus Name
