The ORIGINAL Christmas Gift

LUKE 2  And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with Child.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see This Thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

 Almighty God

Thank You for sending the Son to save our sinful souls

Thank You, Jesus, for coming to earth, living a perfect life

Dying a sinner’s death on our behalf

So that we can have access to the King

Without You, we would have nothing that we do have, Lord

Without You, we would not have hope

We would not have the faith You gave us

We would not have Truth

Thank You to the Holy Spirit Who brings us instruction and understanding and Who gives peace as we could never know without You

Thank You, today, for that Sweet Baby Boy Who came to this earth

To save the souls of men and give us all access to the Throne of God

And salvation that we can spend eternity, praising the One Perfect God in Heaven forever and ever.

In Jesus’ Name,

Acknowledge The Father’s Power

Matthew  6:9  After This Manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which Art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name.

John 18:6  As soon then as He had said unto them, I Am He, they went backward, and fell to the ground.

Luke 17;12-19 And as He entered into a certain village, there met Him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

And when He saw them, He said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving Him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give  Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?    Then He said to him, Rise and go; your faith has made you well.

Father God

Thank You for this day

.Please forgive our sins against You, others and ourselves

We give You praise for Your Awesomeness,

Your Glory and Your Power Father, we know that no matter what happens in politics, You will bring us through it all

We rely on You, we believe in You Our Faith is in You Alone

The Blessing of God’s Provision

Matthew 6:12Give us this day our daily bread

Exodus 16:15And when the Children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat

Deuteronomy 29:5And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her Firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

How many times do we grab a snack or take a warm shower, without a second thought.  Certainly we appreciate it, but do we acknowledge that our Lord is supplying our needs, from the most basic matters of life, to the most substantial, like our health and lodging?

When we open our cupboard (if we’ve recently been shopping), do we not expect to find what we want?  What about the shower, isn’t it just pretty much taken for granted that warm water will flow from the faucet? In our closet there are a number of shirts, pants and shoes to select.

Our Lord, our Creator, provides for us in abundance!  The times we seem to notice are when things we once had are not working, there’s no access or for whatever reason, not available. At that point, what do we want to do? Pray for the Lord’s Mercy, and for Him to restore what we find lacking?  Have we prayed to thank Him when we had whatever it was?

Let’s turn our hearts to be aware of God’s blessing and great provision for our “daily bread”.  I pray to God, none of us know homelessness or hunger, but if that ever comes to pass, know that our Loving Father is there to  provide for His children.

Thank you for this day

Please forgive our sins against You, others  and ourselves

Thank You for the many provisions

We recognize You as our Mighty Provider

We appreciate every one of our blessings

Please draw our attention to those we overlook or do not recognize

You showed us that even Your  Own Son was provided a bed

Although there were more comfortable surroundings

You certainly could have lavished Him with every earthly comfort

You showed us, Father, that You ARE SUFFICIENT to meet all needs.

In the Name of Jesus

Let The Redeemed of The Lord SAY SO!

O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His Mercy endureth for ever.

 Let the Redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.

And He led them forth by the Right Way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

Oh that men would praise the Lord for His Goodness, and for His Wonderful Works to the children of men!

For He satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

Because they rebelled against the Words of God, and contemned The Counsel of the Most High:

Therefore He brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

Oh that men would praise the Lord for His Goodness, and for His Wonderful Works to the children of men!

For He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and He saveth them out of their distresses.

He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Oh that men would praise the Lord for His Goodness, and for His Wonderful Works to the children of men!

And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His Works with rejoicing.

 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

These see the Works of the Lord, and His Wonders in the deep.

For He commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit’s end.

Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and He bringeth them out of their distresses.

He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

Then are they glad because they be quiet; so He bringeth them unto their desired haven.

Oh that men would praise the Lord for His Goodness, and for His Wonderful Works to the children of men!

Let them exalt Him also in the congregation of the people, and praise Him in the assembly of the elders.

 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

And there He maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

He setteth the the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the Lovingkindness of the Lord.Isn’t our Heavenly Father wonderful in so many ways.  He gently shows us who we are while teaching us Who He Is! Unless we recognize the Lord as our Savior, we cannot possibly view ourselves as sinners in desperate need of salvation.  Once we embrace and accept the Truth, that without Christ we are lost, we grow and learn just how vast the chasm Jesus reached, drawing one as wicked and unworthy as us into fellowship and communion with His Righteousness. As the Redeemed, it seems we would sing and shout about God’s great mercy and grace toward us, and our breath would go from us, speaking words of praise and encouragement; Nay, even warnings to those who refuse and reject the Lord, for a day of judgement is coming. Even in this wicked world, with horrible crimes committed every day by the most ruthless offenders, can we really say they deserve hell more than we do?  Our sins cover us the same way, yet we go to the Lord for forgiveness and He gives it to us, through the Power of the Blood of Jesus, not by our own worthiness

Father God

Thank You for this day

Please forgive our sins against You, others and ourselves

Whatever is going on in our lives, Lord, please give our hearts a song of praise to You

You are there when times are joyous and when we have difficulties that seem endless and unsurmountable

Nothing is impossible with You, Jesus

Thank You for giving us the faith we need to persevere

Please let us take hold of that in times we don’t understand what is going on around us or why

We don’t have to know every detail of the plan that You have for us, our family, our friends or this nation

All we need to do is have faith and recognize that You are in complete control

You Are the same yesterday, today and always

And what You do will be for Your glory and for our good

Thank You for our many blessings and please keep our hearts in a constant state of appreciation for all You do

Things we know and can see and things You protect us from knowing.

We love You, Lord

Thank You for Your Beautiful Word

~Internal Peace Amidst External Chaos~

Philippians 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Certainly in our lives, there has been at least one time the Power and Presence of Almighty God has been so evident in a situation . That time or times when there was no other explanation for the answer of a prayer, meeting of a particular need, comfort in time of crisis or anything only our Lord could and did accomplish.

Today, let’s stop and consider the circumstances we were in when our Savior made Himself known to us in such a sweet and special way. In the same way our Father can and will discipline His children out of Perfect Love, bringing us to obedience and understanding, He also cradles, shields and protects us with caring and compassion.

Jesus lived this life.  He walked this earth, as all man and all God.  The Lord was subjected to temptation, yet did not sin. You know what strength and support He had in His Spirit as He endured many trials and tribulations.

He was despised, mocked, beaten and put His Life down for the very ones who tormented Him. He gave His life for those who consider themselves in no need of a Savior, yet desperately do.

Angels were sent to witness through His temptations in the desert. Then in the Garden, when He asked His Father if there was another way, Although He was aware of the tremendous suffering to come,  Jesus continued on with the Plan and  went willingly to the Cross for us, accused, yet sinless. His Own Father had to look away from Him because of us

Just saying, Jesus knows suffering and pain. He understands what it is like to be alone, misunderstood, under pressure and facing something so incredibly difficult, yet still accepting the consequences of following the Father’s Will.

Knowing these things, we have a Comforter Who is here to serve in so many capacities, great and small.

Let’s acknowledge and show appreciation for the Gift of God’s True and Perfect Peace!

Lord Almighty

Thank You for this beautiful day

Please forgive our sins against You, one another and ourselves

We ask that You please show Yourself to us in situations, and please give us a heart of gratitude to You

You do so much for, with, in and through us, Lord Jesus

We just thank You for allowing us to be used by You for any purpose we can serve

Lord, please let us honor You in all we say and do

Let Your Light shine brightly

That anyone around us will see You, not us

Lord, thank You for the Peace that Only You can bring

The world cannot offer peace, Father

Please let us recognize that all it offers is counterfeit and worthless

But what You send is wholesome and pure

We praise You for that, Glorious Lord

In the Name of Your Son, Jesus

Who gave His Life that we can know peace

The Sweet Peace of Following God’s Will

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto Me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Isaiah 40:31

For they that wait upon the Lord shall renew strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Galatians 6:9

And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

One of my daughters drove me absolutely crazy when the family went to eat at a buffet. She piled her dish a mile high with just about everything, only eating a small bite of a few. After shuffling things around, she pushed that serving away and headed back to do the same thing. On her own, she showed an unwillingness to pace herself. Her actions may have taken away from someone else who may have actually wanted something that she carelessly discarded.

Do you know someone (or are you that person), who has a full plate, yet does whatever it takes to work in a few more projects?

As in a human body, the Body of Christ has many parts. Although some may seem more essential than others. Yes, there are body parts we can live and learn to function without, but when they are there and viable, why not put them to good use, rather than simply setting them aside as obsolete and insignificant?

There are people in the church who always are willing to step up and step in for any task, which is sweet and thoughtful; however, God may be calling upon someone specifically to fill a spot, and there are a few scenarios where God’s intention was ignored.

Now this doesn’t have to mean deliberate disobedience, but it does come from running ahead of, or falling behind God’s Will by not prayerfully considering where each person belongs.

The Lord created us for a specific calling. Seek His Will for your life. Find where He wants you to be. How you can serve Him and testify to His greatness to those who come in contact with you?

Finally, wherever you are, for however long He has you somewhere, be content, knowing that it is so much more a blessing to face trials where God has put us, than to experience comfort anywhere else.

Consider this: If you take on what the Lord has not given you to do, you may pass up your calling on the way.

Lord God

Thank You for this day

Please lead us to the road You have forged for us

Show us the path You intend for us to take

What we should do with the resources and skills You’ve given us

Where we are to go and how You want us to get there

Please keep us focused on You

And on how we can serve You, Lord

Let us please be a light in this dark world

Willing to follow wherever You lead

In the Name of Jesus

Devotional: Know Christ from Counterfeit

Isaiah 9:6 – For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Revelation 1:8 – I am Alpha and OMEGA, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Inline image 1

1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

To recognize a counterfeit, first one must know full well the details of the original. Let us know and pass along to our children, how to familiarize ourselves with the Lord so well that with His discernment, we and they will be able to understand and identify the difference and avoid it at all costs!

From the website:, this is a partial list of some crazies claiming to be Christ. Of course, sadly, this is far from an exhaustive group, it is merely meant to show a tidbit of the world’s madness! Which is more disturbing, the one making the claim, or those believing and following?

Cults are alive and well. The Bible speaks of the remnant remaining. Romans 11:5 – Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. “Brainwashing” and “falling away’ are all part of the “wide gate” so many will tragically and blindly go through, willingly.
Matthew 7:13 Enter in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be who go in there.
It is critical that our children learn about Jesus! At some point, they will go out on their own. If the children do not know who Christ is, it makes it easier for the enemy to confuse and lure them into his trappings.

Let’s pray for the children, youth and young adults who are persecuted by other students and instructors for their beliefs. Pray, please, that they will be able to persevere and grow in their walk rather than concede and fold to pressure. We so want them to stand complete one day before the Throne of God and hear “Well done, My Good and Faithful Servant”.

21st century (see the website, going all the way back to the 18th Century)
Apollo Quiboloy (1950–) is the founder and leader of a Philippines-based Restorationist church, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name, Inc. He has made claims that he is the “Appointed Son of God.”
Alan John Miller (1962–), more commonly known as A.J. Miller, a former Jehovah’s Witness elder and current leader of the Australia-based Divine Truth movement.[44] Miller claims to be Jesus Christ reincarnated with others in the 20th century to spread messages that he calls the “Divine Truth.” He delivers these messages in seminars and various forms of media along with his current partner Mary Suzanne Luck, who identifies herself as the returned Mary Magdalene.[45]
David Shayler (1965–) was a former MI5 agent and whistleblower who, in the summer of 2007, proclaimed himself to be the Messiah. He has released a series of videos onYouTube claiming to be Jesus, although he has not built up any noticeable following since his claims.[46][47][48]
Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez (1990-). In November 2011, he fired nine shots with an assault rifle at the White House in Washington D.C., believing himself to be Jesus Christ sent to kill U.S. President Barack Obama whom he believed to be the antichrist.[49][50]
Lightning Deng, a woman whom the Chinese Eastern Lightning cult believe to be the reincarnation of Christ.

Father God
Please show us Who You Are
Draw us into a desire
For a deep
Intimate relationship with You
O Lord

Merciful One
Please let us display
To our children
How to know You better
Through prayer
And studying Your Word

We praise You for the
Beautiful children
Who believe in You
Strengthen them, we pray

May we remain close to our
Precious Father
Beneath Your Wings

Lend our ear to the Truth
And our hearts to obedience

Protect all represented here
From misleading and straying from

May we love You
Follow You
Realize our total dependency upon You
In the Name of the One and Only Christ
Who was born of a virgin, suffered and died
But conquered death and rose
Stands in victory
Waiting for the Father to call us Home
When we will live in Eternity

The Rainbow: God’s Glorious Covenant Signature In The Sky

Genesis 9:1216 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations. -I do set My Bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between Me and the earth. And it shall come to pass when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud; And I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

Revelation 4:1-3 After this I looked, and behold, a door was opened in Heaven; and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

And immediately I was in the spirit; and, behold, a Throne was set in Heaven, and One sat on the Throne.

And He that sat was to look upon like jasper and sardine stone; and there was a rainbow about the Throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

God’s bright, beautiful rainbow. Rainbow City, AL 8-19-20

Yesterday, my husband and I were blessed to find this gorgeous treasure in the sky. We were in the grocery store parking lot and everyone outside with us, stopped to take a photo.

One lady and I chatted about how bold the colors were, and that neither of us had ever seen a rainbow so vivid.

In the second photo, you can see that there was a second rainbow right beside it, although it was not as bright, but still a lovely reminder of our Lord’s great and wonderful promises.

God’s double rainbow. Rainbow City, AL 8-19-20

I know that I have been known to make promises to my kids, grandchildren, friends and any number of people. This is a habit I am trying to break. In all reality, God is the ONLY ONE capable of making a promise we know will be kept.

Even with the best intentions, far too often I find keeping my promises difficult, as I cannot guarantee my own next next breath, much less what I will do with it. A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps. (Proverbs 16:9).

Sometimes, like the bold rainbow, we can clearly see God’s Work materialize. There are other times in our lives when our vision is so faint, it is harder to make out the fulfillment, maybe because things don’t look like we expected. There is one thing of which we can be confident, His Word is Truth, and what He tells us WILL come to pass, in the time, place and manner only He knows.

Only our Creator could decorate the skies as a reminder of His promise!

Almighty God

Thank You for this wonderful day

Please forgive our sins against You, others and ourselves

We thank You for the beautiful rainbow

The Heavenly colors

The gentle reminder of Your Promise

We give You all glory and honor

For sharing Your wondrous works

Allowing our human eyes to catch a glimpse

Of such a tremendous part of Your Creation

As the rainbow

Be praised, O God

Be thanked and may our appreciation be known

To You be the glory and honor forever and ever

The Vine-Life to the Branches

John 15: 1-2 I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Husbandman. Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. … Continue reading
